Chatchawan Rodklongtan was born in Bangkok and received his bachelor's degree in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi. He is currently an independent artist who specializes in painting and sculpture. Buddhism and deity beliefs influence his work, which combines traditional Thai and contemporary art. He methodically blends color, light, and shadow to balance warm and cool tones, resulting in atmospheres that bring Thai patterns to life and evoke strong emotions.
Chatchawan has received numerous domestic and international awards, including the third prize, Bronze Medal in Traditional Thai Painting, at the 25th Bualuang Painting Exhibition in 2001, the Grand Prix at THE BEPPU ASIA BIENNALE OF CONTEMPORARY ART 2007 in Japan, and an invitation to be a brand ambassador for Royal Talens, the manufacturer of Rembrandt paints, in 2018. In 2023, he received the Rajamangala Honor Award in Visual Arts from Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, as well as a Gold Medal from the 23rd International Calligraphy and Painting Exchange Exhibition at Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum in Japan.
Chatchawan Rodklongtan has consistently exhibited his work in both solo and group exhibitions. His notable solo exhibitions include "Light in the Atmosphere of Faith" at River City Bangkok in 2003, "STUDY in Light" at Carpe diem Galleries in 2006, "Buddhist Concepts – Dhamma – Peace" at Number One Gallery, Silom in 2008, "The Path to Liberation" at LWH Gallery, Shanghai, China in 2015, and "Assumptions" at Gallery Hall, River City Bangkok in 2018. In addition to his solo exhibitions, Rodklongta has participated in numerous group exhibitions. These include "A Song in Tribute to King Bhumibol Adulyadej" at Salathuth Sirosopa in 2017, "Light of Life" with two Thai artists at Hollywood Blvd, USA, 14th Thai New Year Songkran Festival 2019, and The Thai Restaurant Lancaster, USA in 2019, the group exhibition "IN" at Queen Sirikit Art Gallery in 2020, and "Women in the Time of the Buddha" at Sombat Permpoon Gallery, "Play Art House The Exhibition" at Icon Siam, and "What’s Thai" at Siam Paragon, 2nd Edition in 2021. In 2022, as a Rembrandt Paints brand ambassador, he exhibited alongside 12 other brand ambassadors at the Rijksmuseum.
Chatchawan Rodklongtan's works are part of the collections at important institutions such as Khao Yai Art Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA BANGKOK).
